Mechanical and Electronic Engineering Department
 
 

Mechanical and Electronic Engineering Department was founded in 2006, in which there are three undergraduate specialties: mechanical engineering and automation, industrial design, and process equipment and control engineering. The department focuses on cultivating practice-oriented technical undergraduate talents with basic mechanical engineering technology, who are all-round developed in quality and adapted to meet the need of modernization. The specialty of mechanical and electronic engineering was nominated as one of the key constructive ones in Heilongjiang Province in 2011 and assessed in 2015. Master students will be recruited to study in the field of this specialty if it is qualified in the exam and inspection held by Ministry of Education within 1 to 3 years.


   

Presently we have 1338 students and a strong teaching staff, including 13 professors, 14 associate professors of all the full-time teachers in our department. Young teachers have master degree or above. The director of our department, Professor Yu Huili, was honored as one of a few the first distinguished teacher of Heilongjiang Province.

Having been constructed for years, this department has got remarkable advantages in disciplines, specialties, professional team construction, teaching practices and academic researches as well. The teaching team of mechanical design was named the sole excellent undergraduate teaching team of all the independent colleges of Heilongjiang province in 2010. Department of mechanical and electronic engineering was named advanced collective of Heilongjiang ordinary high school teachers in 2012,


Heilongjiang collective award of first management quality of ordinary high school (2012), Heilongjiang advanced general party branch in 2012. We won the second prize in 2009 in outstanding teaching achievement of Heilongjiang province; we have four projects in project teaching reform of Heilongjiang province, one was listed as key project of Heilongjiang province in 2011. Since 2006, we have been the contributing publishers and editors of fifteen textbooks which were published by the national press, of which "three-dimensional textbook of mechanical design" was named the national 11th five-year plan materials.

Department of mechanical and electronic engineering attach great importance to practice teaching. We have built eighteen laboratories including the mechanics, numerical control, mechanical principles, mechanical design, industrial design and etc. We have built all the laboratories required by the teaching syllabus. We pay attention to the training of students' practical ability, open up a broad practice base, and establish a long-term cooperative practice base with domestic well-known large-scale enterprises such as Qiqihar No.2 Machine Tool (Group) Co., Ltd. and Beijing Industrial Design Center and other units to provide ample training opportunities for students. We also pay attention to the training of students' personality and the spirit of innovation, we have successfully held large-scale exhibition of students’ excellent works eleven times. By these, students’ ability of creativity and practice are developed. Students who attend various contests get the provincial level or above more than thirty items, particularly noteworthy is that the robot produced by their own is unique. And we won the first prize one item, the second prize eight items, the third prize seven items in the thirteenth, fourteenth National Robot Competition and the second session and the third session of the International Humanoid Robot Olympic Games. We won the third prize three items in the 2012 "TRIZ" Cup National Undergraduate Innovative Design Contest. Our students won one patent for utility model. Students also won the design award for the advertisement of the World University Winter Games, the first prize in the Debate Contest of College Students, and the second prize in the Electronic Science and Technology Competition and many other prizes.

The employment quality, the employment rate and the postgraduate rate of our department always maintain at a high level.


Mechanical Designing Manufacturing and Its Automation (Direction of Petroleum Machinery)

The direction of the major is to cultivate the applied engineering and technical personnel with basic mechanical engineering technology and comprehensive quality, especially the characteristic specialized personnel in petroleum, machinery design (including computer-aided design CAD), machinery manufacturing (including computer-aided manufacturing CAM), to adapt to the needs of the socialist modernization construction in 21st century. The major is to enable the students to grasp the essential basic theories, broad technical knowledge, necessary basic skills, designing and manufacturing methods in electromechanical product and equipment, and knowledge about management and marketing.

The major is for science and engineering students (four year), and after graduation students will be awarded bachelor’s degree.

Mechanical Designing Manufacturing and Its Automation (Direction of NC Technology)

The direction of the major is to cultivate the comprehensive applied personnel with the basic knowledge of mechanical engineering technology, especially those characteristic personnel in numerical control technology, mechanical design, and mechanical manufacturing, to adapt to the needs of socialist modernization construction in the 21st century. The major emphasizes the teaching in numerical control technology and enables? the students to grasp the processing principles and technology in numerical control? machine tool and have the ability to program the typical parts and process the numerical control and make 3D programming of complicated parts with the CAM software.

after graduation, students can seek employment concerning mechanical design, mechanical manufacturing , numerical control technology and sales on mechanical and electrical products in petroleum field, machinery manufacturing industry, automobile and tool industry, foreign enterprises, companies, research institutes and other departments, especially employment concerning NC programming and design, CNC machining process rules, the debugging of CNC machine tools.

The major is for science and engineering students (four years), and after graduation student will be awarded bachelor's degree.

Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Its Automation (Mechatronics)

This professional direction is to cultivate all-round developed high-quality applied talents who have fundamental technology of mechanical engineering and adapt to social needs of socialist modernization in the 21st century. The professional direction pays much attention to the teaching of the basic theory and professional knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing and electronic engineering, which enables the students know basic theory and professional knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing and practical skills of microelectronics information processing at the same time, and also the ability to design and manufacture in the professional and related field engaged in mechanical and electrical products, the organization management coordination capacity in the process of technology research and development and production of mechanical and electrical products, the automation system establishment of mechanical and electrical products and basic performance test ability, etc.

After graduation, students can work on design and manufacturing of mechanical and electrical products in the department of Chinese-funded enterprise or foreign-invested enterprises, corporation, research institute in the fields of petroleum industry, mechanical manufacturing industry, automobile, light industry, food industry, electronics industry, etc. Students also can work on the organization management and coordination in the process of technology research, development and production of mechanical and electrical products, the jobs of the formation of mechanical and electrical products automation system, basic performance test and promotion.

After graduation, students can work on design and manufacture of mould in the department of Chinese-funded enterprise or foreign-invested enterprises, corporation, research institute in the fields of petroleum industry, mechanical manufacturing industry, automobile, light industry, food industry, electronics industry, etc. Students also can work on the management of mould design, manufacturing and development and design of new mould products and promotion, etc.

The duration of studies is four years. Recruit students of science and engineering. After graduation, students will be awarded bachelor’s degree of engineering.

Industrial Designing

This major aims at training talents with basic theoretical knowledge, broad technique basic knowledge, and practical applying abilities. Besides, the students can master such skills as sketching, mould making, industry mould designing, innovating design, and higher operating ability of computer.

In order to promote graduates’ ability to adjust to working, this major focuses on training students’ practical abilities and aims to develop talents who are specialized and versatile. In the economic development of society, this major will provide students with more chances of taking jobs and brighter future.

This major is of four- year school system, enroll students who study on science and engineering and the students will be entitled with degree of bachelor of engineering.

Procedure Equipment and Control Engineering

This major aims to provide students with qualities of chemical engineering, mechanic engineering, computer basis and managerial engineering. And students can work in such areas as chemical, petroleum, energy, light industry, environment-protecting, medicine, food, machinery and labor security etc. They will be engaged in engineering design, technique development, producing technique, managerial administration as well as engineering research. Besides, the students will study courses on chemical engineering, mechanic engineering, computer application, procedure control. They will make such subjects combined as procedure, equipment, and controlling in order to equip them with combined knowledge.
