Information Engineering and Computer Technology Department
 
 


The department of Information Engineering and Computer Technology, established in 2003, is offered three undergraduate majors in communication engineering, electronic information engineering and computer science and technology. It emphasizes the construction of professional features and initially formed three professional field: One is communication engineering based on 3G communications technology, optical fiber communication technology and network communication technology. Another is electronic information engineering built on the core of Applied Electronic Technology, the Internet of Things Technology and Oilfield Measurement and Control Technology. The third one is computer application with computer application technology and computer software as the main body. The department of Information Engineering and Computer Technology, around the three fields, constructively carried out the construction of the related majors and trained applied talents in the related fields.

The head of the department of Information Engineering and Computer Technology, Fang Lianzhong, was originally a famous professor in Harbin Institute of Technology; the director professor, Dr. Wang Kejia, is the head in charge of the sub-project of the National 863 Project. There are fifty-nine full-time teachers in the department of Information Engineering and Computer Technology, including 4 professors, 21 associate professors, 3 senior engineers, 31 lecturers, 7 holders of doctorate degree and 29 holders of master degrees respectively. In addition, we also engage famous expert professors to teach from Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Engineering University.


In the department of Information Engineering and Computer Technology, sixteen laboratories have been established, such as Electronic Technology, High-frequency Technology, Communication Principle, Mobile Communication, Optical Fiber Communication, 3G and Data Communication laboratory, Students' Innovation laboratories and one Technology Training Room. Among them, 3G and Data Communication laboratory, Students' Innovation laboratories and one Technology Training Room are the most complete equipment and the largest laboratories in the northeast of China at present. And we take advantage of more than ten out-of-campus bases, relying on Harbin Engineering University and petroleum enterprise attached to Da Qing Petroleum Administration Bureau, which further strengthen the content of practicing teaching.

In the department of Information Engineering and Computer Technology, through years of efforts,



we have had a number of provincial subjects, published more than ten textbooks and more than ten SCI papers and EI papers. Students team participated in the national and Heilongjiang Province College Electronic Design Contests many times and achieved good results. For instance, our student team won a second prize of national groups and eleven provincial group prize. Meanwhile, our students took an active part in the National College Students’ Software Competition and the National ITAT Vocational Skills Competition and gained a number of awards at all levels.

We have cultivate 1469 graduates, pervading in China Telecom, China Mobile, Goldmind Technoligies Inc, ISCAS, Da Qing Petroleum Administration Bureau, Yan An Petroleum Exploration Company, Karamay Oilfield Mining Company, Guang Zhou Radio Group and Digital China Company. And parts of the alumni are technical mainstays in the unit. The employment rate of graduates approaches 100%.

Communication Engineering Profession (3G Communication Technology Orientation)

This specialty is aimed at training engineering professionals who have mastered the knowledge of 3G communication engineering, communication software and network design and are capable of working in scientific researches, program design, engineering development, technological support, performance maintenance and management of the communication departments in oil and gas field. It also trains professionals engaged in communication research and development, communication and information software development in each department of national economy and application-oriented engineering talents in information security of communication network system.

And in these departments, they can engage in such jobs as modern communication system, scientific research of information exchange and communication network, design, operation, management, maintenance and teaching of engineering, so as to meet the developing needs of modern communication. Length of schooling for this profession is four years with recruitment of the students in science and engineering. Graduates will be given bachelor degree of science and engineering.

Communication Engineering Profession (Fiber Optical Communication Technology Orientation)

This specialty is aimed at training engineering professionals who have mastered the knowledge of optical fiber communication technology, optical fiber sensing technology, optical fiber network, communication software and network design and are capable to work in scientific researches, program design, engineering development, technological support, performance maintenance and management of the communication departments in industry, military and oil and gas field. It also trains professionals engage in communication research and development, communication and information software development in each department of national economy and application-oriented engineering talents in information security of communication network system.

Length of schooling for this major is four years with enrollment of the students in science and engineering. Graduates will be awarded bachelor degrees of science and engineering.

Communication Engineering (Network Communication technology)

This major aims to cultivate technical personnel with knowledge of network communication technology, network communication software and communication network design. They can be capable in industrial, military and manage in scientific research, project design, project development, technical support, operation maintenance and management in the field of oil and gas. And this major also aims to train students to be applied engineers and technical personnel who can engage in network information engineering research and development, communication and information system software development in the national economic departments and communication network system of information security.

After graduation students can be qualified in the modern network communication system various big operators and oil and gas field communication unit, such as scientific research institutions, some big famous websites, China telecom, China Unicom, China mobile and so on. The network information exchange and scientific research of communication network, engineering design, operation, management, maintenance, etc, can adapt to the rapid development of the modern network communication requirements.
The length of this major is four years and it recruits students of science and engineering. The graduates are supposed to be given bachelor's degree of engineering.

Electronic Information Engineering (Networking Application Technology)

This major aims to cultivate engineering and technical personnel who can systematically master broad technology basic theoretical knowledge in the specialized field and have the work ability to adapt to the modern electronic and information engineering and master the basic theory of electronic information network and experimental technology, and the electronic information network analysis, design, production and testing. They are able to master all kinds of methods of information acquisition, processing, transmission of the basic theory and application, with the basic ability of design, integration, application and computer programming and information security.

After graduation students can do the job in networking system integration, physical networking equipment maintenance and operation service, which is engaged in the wireless sensor network technology application, computer automatic identification, and other related product system integration, intelligent identification, testing and the process control, as well as for domestic and international IT companies, the government and institutions content networking application software development, testing and maintenance of database system. The graduates also can be the engineering personnel who can do the job in networking intelligent project, physical networking information management, information system analysis, information processing and technical management.
Involving industries are digital oilfield, intelligent transportation, intelligent household, intelligent medical, intelligent community, intelligent campus, digital city, etc.
The length of this major is four years and it recruits students of science and engineering. Graduates are awarded bachelor's degree of engineering.

Electronic & Information Engineering (Applied Electronic Technology)

This program aims at training engineering personnel who systematically and broadly grasp the basic technical theories of the program, as well as possess the skill of working in a broad field of modern electronic and information engineering. Graduates of this program will have the ability in analyzing, designing, producing and testing electronic and information network; they will have basic abilities in designing, integration, application and computer programming. Students will be trained as applied engineers and technical personnel who guarantee information safety.

Graduates can work on research, development and maintenance of electronic & information system in research facilities, environmental departments, quality supervision departments, network and telecommunication manufacturing enterprises. They can involve in research, design, manufacturing, application and development of various electronic devices and information system software. They can engage in producing, assembling, testing and maintaining in the field of information, communication and network for high-tech firms. They also can work on electronic circuit design, on the developing, producing, assembling, testing and maintaining of electronic products.
This program is 4-year long, and is only available to students majoring in science. Graduates will be awarded bachelor degree in engineering.

Electronic & Information Engineering (Oilfield Measurement & Control Technology)

This program aims at training engineering personnel who systematically and broadly grasp the basic technical theories of the program, as well as possess the skill of working in a broad field of modern electronic and information engineering. Graduates of this program will have the ability in analyzing, designing, producing and testing of electronic and information network. They will have basic abilities in designing, integration, application and computer programming. Students will be trained as applied engineering technical personnel who guarantee information safety.

Graduates of this program can work on the manufacturing and testing of oilfield electronic instruments in research facilities and high-tech in communication and information technology. They can engage in developing and testing of electronic and technological work in high-tech firms of oilfields both on land and ocean, research institution, national defence as well as national technology management departments; they can also work on the research, design and development of electronic devices and information system software.
This program is four-year long, and is only available to science students. Graduates will be awarded Bachelor degree in engineering.

Computer science and Technology Major(Computer Application Technology)

Professionals on computer not only have the ability of pioneering spirit and fine foundation of computer science,theory and ability of practice, but also have the ability of self-development on advanced computer engineering. The professional training focuses on computer software design, computer network communication, computer network security, computer embedded system, computer multimedia technology, and applied technicians to theory and applications in database. The students can acquire the ability of analysis and solving practical of engineering problems and software development of and hardware design through the professional learning.

After graduation students can employ in computer teaching, scientific research, project and product development and program design, network security, technical support, etc. in the scientific research departments, educational institutions, enterprises, business, technology and administrative departments, can also be engaged in system engineering, project manager and technical supervisor.

Computer Science and Technology Major (Computer Software)
