Economic Management Department
 
 

The Department of Economic Management was founded in 2003 offering 3 bachelor's degree programs, i.e. Financial Management, Marketing and International Economics & Trade. The tenet of this department is to serve the economic construction of the Old Northeastern Industrial Base of China and cultivate talents of economic management with high quality.

There are 1086 current students and abundant teacher resource in this department, 34 specialized teachers in total including 6 professors, 14 associate professors, 10 lecturers and 4 teaching assistants. Our teachers have edited dozens of teaching materials or books in recent years.

There are 3 integrated simulation laboratories and 1 Computerization comprehensive laboratory for students’ practice in the Department of Economic Management. We also established off-campus training base with UFIDA Software Co. Ltd. and other companies, which can excellently meet the needs of our practical teaching, effectively promote the training of student’s operating skills and cultivate their comprehensive quality. Our students successively won good places in the “UFIDA CUP” for Information-Based Management Applied Skills and Venture Contest.



The Department of Economic Management has sent out many outstanding graduates since its foundation, most of whom play important roles in the petroleum industry and other enterprises and public institutions. The high employment rate of this department has risen by 95 % for last three years.

Financial Management Major (Accounting)

This program aims to cultivate the inter-disciplinary, application-oriented? senior specialized talents being engaged in finance, teaching and scientific research in? industry and commerce, financial enterprises, accounting firms and? multinational corporations who can meet the need of our 21st Century socialist modernization, be well equipped with solid base of accounting skill, perfect financial management theory, broad economic management knowledge, having a good knowledge of domestic


and overseas policies, regulations and international practice about accounting and Auditing. Students can take some professional qualification examinations, and get Certificate of Accounting Professional, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) providing they have good scores by 4 years professional learning and skills building.

The duration of this program is four years, students of arts and science are both admitted, and the certificate awarded to its qualified graduates is Bachelor of Science in Management.

Financial Management (Orientation of Certified Public Accountants)

This Major aims at training versatile, practical and highly qualified specialists who can meet the needs of socialist modernization in the 21st century, have the knowledge and ability of management, economy, law and financing and are familiar with the related domestic and foreign policies, regulations and international practice about accounting and auditing; who master the basic procedure of CPA audit and enterprise inner audit skillfully and can take financial, teaching and scientific work in industrial departments, financial enterprises, public institutions and government departments. Through professional study and skills training, these specialists can take the test of accounting qualification, junior accountant and certified public accountant and obtain the corresponding certificate while qualified.

Financial Management Specialty (Finance and Investment Orientation)

The program of Finance and Investment prepares students into versatile and practical financial professionals who can meet the requirements of socialist modernization of 21 century to be engaged in investment and wealth management, teaching and scientific research in industrial and commercial world, financial firms, governmental organizations and institutions. International Economics and Trade Major (Logistics Management)

The professional direction in order to meet the needs of the socialist modernization construction in twenty-first Century, master the basic theory and basic knowledge of logistics management, train students to have the capability of professional theory, professional skills and a strong marketing, sales management of the economic, management, marketing, trade and so on , mainly for developing compound, application and high level professionals for modern logistic enterprises who have innovative ideas, the enterprising spirit and the team spirit of modern logistics enterprises, make good use of modern information means, and know the? logistics operation rule. Bachelor of Arts in International Economics and Trade (International Business Oriented)

The Bachelor of Arts in international economy and trade degree program combines core business courses with area of specialization courses which is offered by economic and management department. The Bachelor program is ideal for students who want a strong foundation in business while still pursuing passions beyond business. The major offers basic principles of the economics and some basic theories of the international economic trade. Through the area of specialization courses, students have the flexibility to develop in-depth knowledge of a complimentary field of interest. Graduates will be familiar with international trade rules, practices as well as the China’s foreign trade policies and regulations. They will grasp the basic knowledge and skills in the work of international economics and trade.

The professional direction is to adapt to the needs of the socialist modernization of the 21st century. Meanwhile students will master the basic theory of the basic principles of economics and international economic and trade, will be familiar with international trade rules and practices and China 's foreign trade policies and regulations, and will be engaged in the work of the international economic and trade basic knowledge and basic skills understanding of the socio-economic and cultural conditions of the countries in the world, with a sense of innovation, practical ability and innovative spirit, the trade and economic characteristics being obvious to composite advanced expertise .

Through the area of specialization courses students have the flexibility to develop in-depth knowledge of a complimentary field of interest. Students are cautioned that completion of the Bachelor degree alone will not satisfy the eligibility requirements to sit for the social needs. Students aspiring to a career in this major should plan on seeking for the exams of several certificates such as the master of international business, economist, and e-commerce master and other vocational qualification exams.

The Bachelor of Arts in international economics and trade (International business oriented) is a four-year degree program that enrolls both the Arts and Science Students. These students can acquire the Bachelor degree in economics after four years study.

Marketing Major (Tourism Marketing)

Our department is mainly oriented to the 21st century and to meet the needs of socialist modernization. Our educational objective is to train students who have strategic foresight and also students with innovative and deliberate thinking to gain the ability and knowledge of management, economic and marketing management. When our students graduate, they will become professionals of high-level, compound and practical knowledge. The graduates of our department should understand the full use of modern marketing theories and methods, both quantitative and qualitative, to focus on the marketing tactics of theirs projects. Besides a strong ability to communicate with others and solve the practical problems in management, our graduates will also gain a skilled application of English, computer and webbing. After both professional learning and skill training, students who attended and passed the Professional Qualification Examination of tourist practitioner, marketer and E-Commerce Specialist can get their certificate in each field.
